Quavo is back with a new sound and a new level of energy.
The Atlanta rapper has released his latest single, “Trance (Walk It Down),” marking the next chapter in his evolving solo run. Released August 14, the track follows June’s Pharrell Williams-produced “HAAVIN” and continues building anticipation around Quavo’s forthcoming album, QRÖMELIFE.
Produced with Pharrell’s unmistakable creative touch, “Trance” leans into a hypnotic blend of bouncing percussion, looping whistle melodies and an infectious groove. Quavo rides the production with his familiar melodic delivery, moving effortlessly between rapping and singing while keeping the track rooted in the swagger that has defined his career.
The record also finds Quavo embracing a lighter, more playful energy. Rather than overcomplicating the formula, “Trance” is built around a catchy hook and a beat designed to keep listeners locked in. The song reportedly interpolates Shannon’s classic “Let the Music Play,” giving its modern hip-hop production an additional layer of nostalgia.
“Trance” arrives as Quavo continues to shape his next musical chapter alongside Pharrell. That partnership was introduced with “HAAVIN,” the first single from his forthcoming project. The track debuted as the opening song for Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Show in Paris, further connecting Quavo’s new musical direction with fashion and Pharrell’s broader creative world.
With “Trance,” Quavo appears less interested in looking backward and more focused on rediscovering the fun, charisma and melodic instincts that made him one of hip-hop’s most recognizable voices. If this is a preview of what’s coming on QRÖMELIFE, Quavo’s next era is shaping up to be one worth watching.
