Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has officially announced her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, set for release on August 29, 2025. The announcement, made via her social media channels on June 11, was accompanied by bold and playful cover art that has already sparked conversation across the internet.

The album cover features Carpenter in a black mini dress and high heels, kneeling on the ground in a pose reminiscent of a dog, while a man, depicted only from the legs, grips a handful of her hair as if it were a leash. The provocative imagery has drawn mixed reactions from fans, with some praising Carpenter’s audacious style and others questioning the message in the current social climate. The second slide of her Instagram reveal zooms in on a powder-blue collar engraved with the phrase “Man’s Best Friend,” reinforcing the tongue-in-cheek canine theme.

Man’s Best Friend arrives just under a year after Carpenter’s critically acclaimed and chart-topping album Short n’ Sweet, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and featured smash hits like “Espresso” and “Taste”. The new project will include 12 tracks, with the lead single “Manchild” already making waves. The synth-pop track, co-written and produced with Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, humorously addresses immature partners and has quickly climbed the Spotify charts.

In her announcement, Carpenter described “Manchild” as “the embodiment of a loving eye roll,” encouraging fans to “stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!”. She also thanked her fans for their support and cheekily added, “and thank you men for testing me!!”

The album’s playful yet provocative visuals and themes signal a new chapter for Carpenter, who continues to push boundaries and solidify her place as one of pop’s most daring and charismatic artists. Man’s Best Friend is available for pre-order now at store.sabrinacarpenter.com, with anticipation building for its late summer release.
