senses, the Los Angeles-based duo of Madison Taylor & Nick Sampson, brought their “emo-friendly, punk-curious” sound to Empire Control Room & Garage on April 8, 2025. Known for packing pure unbridled energy into every track, they delivered the kind of live show that turned heads & sparked a wave of crowd sing-alongs.

MVSSIE opened with commanding vocals & an immediate connection to the crowd. During one part of her set, she stepped off stage & walked around the fortunate crowd enticing anyone to sing with her.

Negative 25 charged on next with raw vocals & thundering guitar riffs. They combined their energy with their attention grabbing aesthetic. You saw heads banging in unison as each chord shattered the air. The set felt heavy yet strangely inviting, keeping you glued to the music.

senses closed out the night to a rush of cheers from devoted fans. Mid-set, Madison paused the music & mentioned there was something important to share. Suddenly, a couple stepped on stage, & before anyone grasped what was happening, we witnessed a proposal. The bride-to-be said “yes,” & the crowd roared with applause. The band jumped right back into high-energy tracks like “Sleepwalking,” “Better Than This,” & “Gonna Make Sure,” each greeted by booming voices. You saw hands raised & bodies pressed close as the melodies took over.

Empire Control Room & Garage held a distinct energy that night. You watched fans lock eyes with each other, united by the sounds vibrating around them. Missing this show meant missing a moment you can’t quite recapture.
