The Grammy-winning artist has canceled his highly anticipated Rose Bowl concert and delayed the release of his sixth studio album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”
On January 13, 2025, The Weeknd took to social media to share his decision, citing “respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County” as the primary reason for these changes. The Rose Bowl concert, originally scheduled for January 25, has been completely canceled, while the album release has been pushed back from January 24 to January 31, 2025.
The wildfires, which began on January 7 with intense Santa Ana winds, have caused widespread destruction across Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The natural disaster has burned over 40,000 acres, destroyed 12,000 structures, and tragically claimed 24 lives. In light of this crisis, The Weeknd expressed his focus on “supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild”.
