Latin music superstar Rauw Alejandro has released his fifth studio album, “Cosa Nuestra,” on November 15, 2024, through Sony Music Latin and Duars Entertainment. This eagerly awaited project marks a significant evolution in Alejandro’s musical journey, blending his signature urban sound with influences from salsa, Afrobeats, and 1970s Latin music.

“Cosa Nuestra” (translating to “Our Thing”) pays homage to the iconic 1969 album of the same name by Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe, showcasing Alejandro’s deep appreciation for his Puerto Rican roots and the rich history of Latin music. The album features an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Bad Bunny, Pharrell Williams, Alexis & Fido, Feid, Romeo Santos, Laura Pausini, and Latin Mafia.

Alejandro has described the album as his most personal project yet, introducing a character named Raúl Alejandro, which he says gives off a “telenovela vibe.” The concept draws inspiration from the era of Puerto Rican migration to New York City, with Alejandro envisioning his character as an adult living in the Big Apple.

The album was preceded by three singles: “Touching the Sky,” “Déjame Entrar,” and “Pasaporte” featuring Mr. NaisGai. The music video for “Pasaporte,” filmed in Ibiza, includes cameos from David Guetta and The Martinez Brothers.

“Cosa Nuestra” showcases Alejandro’s growth as an artist, incorporating live instrumentation and exploring new musical territories. He emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, stating, “We’re a collective, a family where everyone brings ideas to the table”.

With its mix of traditional Latin rhythms and contemporary urban sounds, “Cosa Nuestra” is poised to be a landmark release in the Latin music scene of 2024.
