Oakland was on fire this past weekend as Future and Friends set the stage for one big party. The stage was set up in an X shape, and the crowd was ready to dance and have a good time. Each artist brought their unique style and energy to the stage. Don Toliver, G Herbo, P-Lo, Lil Jairmy, and Klondlike Blonde each performed a set before Future took the stage.
Rico Red from Georgia started the show with black tank and skinny jeans, thanking Oakland for the love. DJ Fresh played Bay Area culture music and had the audience turn the lights on with their phones. He hyped up the crowd, juicing them up and firing them up for when it was time for Future to come out.
Around 7 PM, rapper Klondlike Blonde took the stage and performed hit singles “Drip,” “No Smoke” and “Put It On Me.” Klondike Blonde wore a black tee with checkered shorts and black boots. She danced and interacted with the audience, pointing at and vibing with them as she rapped in each section in front of her.
Following Klondlike Black’s brief performance, Lil Jairmy took to the stage. What stood out from this artists performance was him wearing a bunch of blinging jewelry such as chains and watch.. Lil Jairmy delivered an exceptional set, featuring songs like “AntiSocial” and “No Luggage.” He also dedicated his performance to the late rapper Lil Keed.
P-Lo, the high-energy rapper from the bay area, took the stage by storm. The crowd erupted with excitement as he performed tracks from his latest album STUNNA. P-Lo performed hit singles such as “Again, “Good”, “Same Squad”, and “Put Me on Something”.
Chicago rapper, G Herbo, took the stage by kicking off his set with the fiery track “Aye,” from his latest album Survivor’s Remorse, released in 2022. His performance was electric as he belted out hits like “Ridin Wit It,” “Sessions,” and “I Like”. Adding a personal touch to his show, G Herbo brought his girlfriend, Taina, on stage and requested help from the crowed to sing “Happy Birthday” for her. He then raised a toast and took a shot with her.
With excitement running high, Don Toliver took the stage delivering an electrifying performance that was one of the evening’s most highly anticipated moments. The artist wore a blue suit with black sneakers. Don Toliver used a lot of hand motions to hype up the crowd and spoke out to the audience to continue the party. Blue and teal lights lit up the crowd, increasing the atmosphere’s energy. The guitarist shredded to “pull-up after party” as the artist danced his heart out, feeling his own music.
The anticipation built as a black sheer sheet dropped in front of the stage, building suspense. Flames shot up, and smoke introduced Future, who wore an all-black outfit with a jacket that says “Oakland, Ca” and leather jeans. A big figure sculptured woman was in the background as he hit the stage, setting it on fire with his unique style and energy. The artist performed over 40 songs, including his early mixtape hits as well as newer material.
Future then went on to invite some Bay Area artists including Mistah Fab from Oakland to perform “N.E.W. Oakland,” D-Lo for “Get Her Tho,” Lil Kayla on “Make His Pockets Hurt,” and G-Eazy for “No Limit” and “1942.”
Overall, Future and Friends brought the party to Oakland, and the audience left with a memorable experience of a night filled with music, dancing, and fun.
