Karol G, real name Carolina Giraldo Navarro, came down to Sacramento and put out an amazing performance at sold out Golden 1 Center. $trip Love is the artist second headline tour across North America.
Agudelo888 started off the show playing a bunch of new and school raeggton. Before hitting the stage, there was a count down in a heart shaped monitor for him to come out in. Once it hit zero the DJ jogged out with excitement, put on his headphones, and started off playing Bad Bunny which definitely had the audience off their seats.
The Colombian singer, Karol G, took the stage at Golden 1 Center around 9:20 PM. The show started with the artist standing on a platform with a thorny heart shape floating above the stage. Once the lights started to slowly appear on Karol G as she was performing her latest single “Gatúbela” the audiences started to screamed with excitement. For this tour, Carolina has switched out her signature blue hair to a fiery red look.
The night was packed with twerking, seductive pole dancers, and a ton of fans sporting leather skirts, fishnet tights, and silk dresses, as the tour’s name “Strip Love”. Eight female dancers, four male dancers, two exotic dancers, and Karol’s all-girl band joined her on stage. The venue’s screens had a bordered heart made of thorns, and the stage was heart-shaped.
The tour’s opening DJ, Agudelo888, went back on stage to kick off a twerking competition, where one lucky person would win $1k. Agudelo brought out 4 fans from the floor level and the competition took around 10 minutes. What was really cool about that was everyone in the venue supporting one another, even the ones on stage.
After the competition, a huge 3D moon slowly appeared covering the venue, Karol G showed up wearing her third dress of the night. This outfit was a skin tight, one piece covered in jewels. Carolina sang her emotional track “Ocean” and told everyone to dedicate it to their loved ones while also pointing out that the previously depressing nights had been replaced by fun ones.
The night ended almost two hours with “Don’t Be Shy,” popular hit “MAMIII” with Becky G and an encore of “Provenza”.
For this being my first female artist headline tour to cover, I’m so glad it was Karol G. Everything about this tour was just amazing from dancers, choreography, props, fire exploding from the stage, and DJ Agudelo888 for hyping up the audience.
Karol G is already a big artist who has done collaborations with Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Winsin Y Yandel, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, and so much more. I can’t wait to see what else the Colombian artist will bring, all I know is it will not be disappointing.
